Life Altering Career Change? It Can Happen to You

Career Opportunity: One of the many “holidays” happening in the month of June is Rebuild Your Life Month.

What’s that all about?

Basically, it is a chance you to take stock of your life as it is now, and see how things are.  Are you truly happy?  Is your career and personal life where you want them to be?  I’m not talking about if you have the car of your dreams, or go on fancy European vacations, or spend weekends in a helicopter.  I mean do you go home at the end of the day from a hard day at work knowing that you made a difference?  Do you feel like you are doing the job you were born to do?

One of my favorite parts about working at a staffing agency is that we get to see firsthand when someone’s life changes for the better.

I remember one of my first placements was with a young guy that had been out of college for a little over a year.  He was living with his parents up in Connecticut with a decent job at an OK company, but he wanted more.  He had gone to school down in the Philadelphia area and wanted to move back here, but only for the right opportunity.

He came on our radar late in a search we were finishing up. However as he was a great fit, we introduced him and he was interviewed.  The bottom line, they hired another candidate for the original role.  However, our client was so impressed with him that they created a new position just for him!

So he was able to get back to the geographic area he was targeting, he got a job in the same industry as before but with a significantly better company that offered him unparalleled training and support with a solid career trajectory.  Not to mention he went from making around 40k to making 57k on a base with a 10% bonus.  It would be an understatement to say that his life changed for the better.

Can new career opportunities be life-changing? – ABSOLUTELYcareer change

So what makes an opportunity life-changing? Here’s an abbreviated list:

  • Learning from those more experienced in your field on a personal 1 on 1 level
  • Gaining targeted experience in a specific industry or field
  • Building a network of like-minded and similarly talented professionals
  • Finding a position and company where you can grow your technical skillset
  • Being able to positively impact your company and the people around you

So it is safe to say that making the right career move can be life changing, but that doesn’t mean it is easy.  Taking on a new career opportunity can be challenging and even a bit scary, but can really pay off if you do your homework..

We have been able to guide countless individuals through this process and have seen what changes it makes! Just last week one of our successful placements was so appreciative and happy in his new role that he sent an Edible Arrangement  along with a lovely card just to say thanks to his recruiter!  How awesome is that?

We love helping people find the right place for them.  So if you are looking for something more when it comes to your career, give us a call today, we would love to see what we can do to help!
