Project Engineer

Location: Wabash, IN

Salary: $115,000 – $150,000

The position requires strong project management and technical skills to manage small to large Capital Projects and evaluate reliability and improvement to current assets. Primarily, the prospective candidate should have the ability to manage several projects that span multiple disciplines. We will consider candidates with a minimum of 2 years in paper or similar industry as a Project Engineer and will provide development to prepare the candidate to move into roles of greater responsibility within the Engineering department.

· Manage all phases of capital and expense repair projects from inception through equipment installation and start-up. Responsibilities include safety, scope and cost management, field execution management, and evaluating performance after projects are in-service.

· Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, management, and other project stake holders on an ongoing basis.

· Lead all phases of the project process to include project scopes, cost estimates and schedules, “Authorization for Expenditure” request forms, preparation of drawings for assigned projects by working with consultants, vendors, and mill personnel, etc.

· Coordinate the different disciplines within the Engineering department on assigned projects.

· Manage Scope of Work and RFQ development and work closely with WestRock Procurement to evaluate and award equipment and service contracts.

· Initiate purchase requisitions for equipment, labor, and materials for assigned capital and repair projects.

What you need to succeed:

· Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.

· Preferred candidate will have 2-5 years related experience with emphasis on engineering of capital projects but will consider a candidate with a minimum

of 2 years professional experience that has a strong technical aptitude and ability to develop.

· Interpersonal skills such as building close working relationships and minimizing disagreements are important elements.

· Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

· Adaptability to rapidly changing working environments and operational situations.

· Physical ability to operate in paper mill environment, including light to moderate lifting, walking, and climbing, oral communication, correctable vision, and ability to work in a hot, humid, and dusty environment.
