Senior Software Architect
Location: Philadelphia, PA – Hybrid
Salary: $160,000 – $200,000
A Philadelphia-based technology group is seeking a high-level software architect to support and evolve a customer-facing commerce platform used by enterprise clients. This is a hands-on architectural role, not just whiteboard design, where you’ll influence systems at scale while staying connected to code, performance, and delivery.
This role is ideal for a senior engineer ready to step into technical leadership or a current architect who still enjoys contributing alongside a tight-knit development team. Experience in transactional, secure, or high-volume applications is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
· Design scalable solutions across APIs, microservices, and web applications
· Work hands-on with a .NET and React stack and Azure infrastructure
· Support legacy transition efforts and lead new architectural patterns
· Collaborate with product, engineering, and executive stakeholders
· Guide technical decisions and contribute to a high-trust, high-output engineering culture
· Review code, refine delivery processes, and mentor developers
What You Bring
· 10 or more years of software development experience with .NET and SQL
· At least 3 years working with payment APIs, high-volume transaction systems, or secure enterprise apps
· Experience with Azure services (Functions, Service Bus, Event Hub, etc.)
· Strong architectural thinking and the humility to still jump into the code
· Clear, confident communication and ability to interface with C-suite leadership
· Experience working in Agile teams and collaborating across disciplines
Bonus Points For
· Experience with React or full-stack architecture
· Familiarity with high concurrency or multi-threaded services
· Background in eCommerce, fintech, or secure system environments
