Sanitation Manager
Location: Lewisburg, PA
Salary: $110,000 – $130,000
Are you a natural leader who thrives in the quiet intensity of an overnight shift? We are seeking a Third Shift Sanitation Manager to oversee sanitation and operations at our client’s Lewisburg, PA production facility.
In this critical role, you will ensure our client’s facility meets the highest food safety and quality standards, setting the stage for a seamless production restart every morning. As this is a USDA facility, you will play a pivotal role in planning for daily inspections and coordinating resources to ensure we are production-ready.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadership: Manage the overnight sanitation team to ensure all equipment and facility areas exceed FDA, USDA, and company standards.
· Compliance: Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA, GMPs, SSOPs, and HACCP requirements.
· Operational Oversight: Lead the startup/shutdown processes for production systems and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
· Audit Readiness: Maintain rigorous documentation and verify that pre-operational inspections are completed accurately.
· Collaboration: Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure smooth shift transitions and goal alignment.
· Team Development: Perform annual appraisals and provide ongoing coaching and training to direct reports.
· Continuous Improvement: Manage the CAPA process and utilize root cause analysis tools to drive efficiency.
Qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in sanitation and operations within food manufacturing.
· Technical Knowledge: Strong expertise in sanitation chemicals, FDA/USDA regulations, and record-keeping systems.
· Process Insight: Understanding of kosher, halal, organic, and non-GMO documentation.
· Analytical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone).
