Project Engineer – Industrial Manufacturing
Location: Wabash, IN
Salary: $100,000 – $125,000
A leading paper and packaging manufacturer is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Wabash mill and support capital projects, reliability improvements, and plant-wide engineering initiatives. This role reports to the Plant Engineer and plays a key part in enhancing the mill’s asset performance, uptime, and long-term operational stability.

What You’ll Do
• Manage small and large capital projects and major maintenance initiatives
• Develop project estimates, budgets, schedules, material lists, and contractor specifications
• Coordinate design and construction activities with operations, maintenance, procurement, engineering, and outside contractors
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget • Support field maintenance technicians and mill operations teams
• Maintain company technical standards and design criteria
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry requirements
• Communicate project status and key developments to management
• Help define project scopes, prepare estimates, and support design and construction phases
• Review projects for technical accuracy and prepare presentations as needed
What You Need
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field
• 2–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (paper mill experience preferred)
• Strong understanding of core engineering principles; familiarity with integrated mill processes is a plus
• Demonstrated project management experience with the ability to lead small to large-scale projects
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities across all levels of the organization
• A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to innovate and drive results
