Production Manager
Location: Williamsport, PA
Salary: $85,000 – $110,000
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an action-oriented Production Manager to lead a specific business unit within their food manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned production lines while mentoring a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
· Leadership: Directly manage supervisors and hourly staff; oversee training, performance reviews, and professional development.
· Operations: Coordinate daily production activities with maintenance, quality, and sanitation to maximize equipment utilization and plant efficiency.
· Safety & Quality: Ensure 100% compliance with GFSI, BRC, SQF, and GMP standards. Conduct safety audits and lead 6S initiatives.
· Continuous Improvement: Lead daily GEMBA walks and Tier III meetings. Utilize “Just Do It” (JDI) and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate bottlenecks.
· Communication: Manage digital workflows via POKA (newsfeeds, guides, and troubleshooting) and ensure seamless communication across shifts.
· KPI Management: Track and report on key performance indicators; adjust schedules dynamically to resolve equipment or operating issues.
Requirements
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Food Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Experience: 5+ years of manufacturing management/supervision experience, ideally within the food industry.
· Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HACCP, GFSI, and food safety regulations.
· Lean Tools: Proven experience in a Continuous Improvement environment (Lean, 6S, Six Sigma).
· Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Office and mobile/tablet applications (OneNote, etc.).
· Availability: Flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
