Process & Production Engineer
Location: Lewistown, PA
Salary: $80,000 – $100,000
We are seeking a high-energy Process Engineer to stabilize and optimize high-speed production lines within a major regional paper manufacturing mill. This is a “boots-on-the-ground” role where you will own the technical performance of a complex industrial flow—from fiber preparation and massive-scale papermaking to high-speed automated converting and packaging.
If you thrive on the “organized chaos” of a mill environment and enjoy using data to solve mechanical and chemical process puzzles, this is your seat.
Key Responsibilities
· Process Stability: Utilize real-time data to maintain line stability and ensure product consistency across high-speed equipment.
· Technical Troubleshooting: Serve as the primary problem-solver for technical “hiccups” in both raw material prep and downstream converting systems.
· Yield Optimization: Lead continuous improvement (CI) projects aimed at reducing waste and maximizing throughput without compromising safety.
· Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner with Maintenance and Operations teams to eliminate process variability and minimize unplanned downtime.
· Quality & Auditing: Execute rigorous technical audits to ensure all output meets strict industrial and safety standards.
· Documentation: Create clear process standards and lead training for floor staff on updated quality protocols.
Required Experience & Skills
· Mill/Industrial Background: 3+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing or mill environment (Paper, Steel, Chemical, or similar high-volume industries).
· Technical Proficiency: 4+ years of experience optimizing complex, multi-stage manufacturing processes.
· Data-Driven: A strong background in root-cause analysis and the ability to translate floor metrics into actionable improvements.
· Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) for performance tracking and reporting.
· Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (No sponsorship available for this role).
Education & Logistics
· Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial preferred).
· Location: Must be able to work on-site daily in the Lewistown area.
· Screening: Successful completion of a background check and drug screen is required.
