Field Service Controls Programmer
Location: Remote | Travel Throughout the U.S.
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 Base + Paid Overtime ($20K–$40K+)
A leading manufacturer of custom automated machinery is seeking a Field Service Controls PLC Programmer to support customers throughout the United States. This is a remote, home-based position with significant travel and the opportunity to earn $20K–$40K+ annually in paid overtime.
This role is ideal for an experienced controls engineer with CODESYS and Schneider PacDrive 3 experience who enjoys programming, troubleshooting, commissioning, and working directly with customers.
Responsibilities
● Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and motion control systems remotely and onsite
● Develop, modify, and implement CODESYS PLC and HMI software
● Commission new equipment and support machine startups
● Integrate automation technologies including robotics, vision systems, lasers, and other subsystems
● Provide production support, technical troubleshooting, and customer training
● Maintain software documentation in accordance with GMP guidelines
● Travel throughout the U.S. (approximately 30 weeks per year)
Qualifications
● 1+ years of industrial automation or controls engineering experience
● Experience programming Schneider PacDrive 3 using CODESYS (IEC 61131-3)
● Hands-on experience programming servo motion control systems
● Strong troubleshooting skills and customer-facing communication
● Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred:
● Pharmaceutical, medical device, or packaging machinery experience
● Zenon HMI programming
● Experience with robotics, vision systems, or other advanced automation technologies
