Location: Philadelphia, PA – Hybrid

Salary: $150,000 – $160,000

A high-growth product and engineering team is hiring an Android Engineering Lead to take ownership of a core mobile platform used across a large-scale, real-world environment.

This is not a pure manager role. It’s a player-coach position where you’ll split your time across coding, guiding engineers, and driving delivery.

Rough breakdown:

• 40% hands-on coding and code ownership

• 30% team leadership and mentoring

• 30% planning, coordination, and delivery

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead development of a multi-module Android platform using Kotlin

• Own code quality, architecture, and long-term maintainability

• Review and guide technical design decisions across the team

• Contribute directly to code, libraries, and core platform components

• Partner with product to plan and deliver roadmap commitments

• Manage and mentor a small team of engineers

• Drive best practices around Git, branching, and release strategy

• Help improve CI/CD, testing, and overall engineering standards

What They’re Looking For

• 8+ years of Android development experience (Kotlin)

• 1+ year of leadership experience (team lead or manager)

• Experience working in multi-module or SDK-style architectures

• Strong understanding of modern Android patterns (Jetpack Compose, etc.)

• Experience with Git workflows and release management

• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools

• Comfortable balancing coding, leadership, and delivery
