Project Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000
A global construction leader is seeking an on-site Project Engineer for a high-profile warehouse build supporting the life sciences sector. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, understands how to turn drawings into reality, and can keep all trades moving toward a flawless delivery. Strong architectural coordination experience is a big plus.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the on-site liaison for building systems and trade coordination
• Conduct daily site walks to verify that installations match design intent and coordination models
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve field issues quickly
• Review and track submittals, RFIs, and updated drawings
• Ensure all materials and installations meet approved specifications
• Proactively identify potential conflicts and drive timely resolutions
• Support project documentation, equipment tracking, and turnover package accuracy
Key Systems You’ll Oversee:
• HVAC, piping, and mechanical systems
• Water systems (potable, non-potable, process)
• Electrical distribution and lighting
• Fire protection systems
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 5+ years of construction site experience, preferably with large-scale commercial or industrial builds
• Proven ability to coordinate architecture and building systems in the field
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, and reading complex design documents
• Strong communication and leadership skills in a site environment
