Land Development Market Leader

Location: Anaheim, CA

Salary: $160,000 – $190,000

A leading, growth-focused AEC firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Private Development Market Leader to drive strategy, business development, and team leadership within the private development market in Southern California.

Role Purpose:

Work in partnership with senior leadership to grow market share, develop strategic plans, and oversee project delivery across a defined market sector. This role will be instrumental in setting priorities, meeting financial goals, and guiding regional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

· Lead and grow a team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.

· Provide operational oversight of market-related goals, staff resources, budgeting, and deliverables.

· Define and implement growth strategies aligned with the firm’s broader vision.

Client Development & Business Growth

· Collaborate with leadership and business development teams to expand client relationships and identify new opportunities.

· Act as a key representative for client-facing activities including meetings, proposals, and presentations.

· Establish annual business goals and sector-specific strategies.

Project Oversight

· Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability.

· Provide high-level technical guidance and thought leadership.

· Oversee QA/QC for major proposals and deliverables in the market sector.

Market Engagement

· Attend professional and industry events to build visibility, strengthen relationships, and uncover business opportunities.

· Maintain and develop partnerships with clients, consultants, and teaming partners.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Surveying, or related field

· 15+ years of experience in the AEC industry with increasing responsibility

· PE, RLA, or PLS license (preferred)

· Demonstrated success in developing new business and leading site design teams

· Solid understanding of private development market trends and client needs
