Business Development Manager

Location: Remote with occasional travel (Mid-Atlantic / East Coast)

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 base + commission

Are you ready to play a leading role in the future of on-site energy? A fast-growing distributed generation company is seeking a Business Development Manager to help organizations strengthen energy resiliency, cut costs, and reduce emissions through natural gas, CHP, and microgrid systems.

This is a technical sales role focused on building relationships and developing large-scale energy projects – typically ranging from $5M–$20M, with the potential to land home-run deals north of $100M.

What You’ll Do

● Develop and close new project opportunities for on-site generation and microgrid systems

● Work with facility managers, engineers, and executive teams in industries like healthcare, higher education, data centers, and commercial facilities

● Manage warm leads from an internal lead generation team while also driving your own business development efforts

● Collaborate with in-house engineers to develop technical proposals and system designs

● Attend trade shows and regional networking events to represent the company

● Manage all sales activity and pipeline tracking through CRM tools

What We’re Looking For

● Experience in technical sales, business development, or project management (power generation, energy systems, or related technical industry preferred)

● Strong communication and consultative selling skills with both technical and C-level stakeholders

● A strategic, long-game mindset – you’re comfortable managing 2–3 year sales cycles and closing large projects

● Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Business, or related field)

● Based in or willing to relocate to the Mid-Atlantic / East Coast region

● Comfortable with light travel (around 25% overnight)
