Our client is a VAR and manufacturer of sophisticated OEM equipment, subsystems and complete solutions.  They are seeking a self-motivated candidate who can work both as a team player and independently with minimal supervision.  The Sr. Controls Engineer will contribute on a wide range of projects in a fast paced environment.  The ideal candidate will have developed skills in control disciplines such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), advanced process control (APC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and motion controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new control systems and modify existing ones
  • Work collaboratively with clients, vendors, sales, operations, and mechanical designers
  • Project Manage small to mid size automation projects from cradle to grave within budget and on time
  • Generate wiring diagrams and panel layouts
  • Provide estimates and quotes
  • Coordinate manufacturing and assembly activities
  • Write computer software and perform PLC and HMI programming functions
  • Assist with installations, and trouble shooting

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent related field experience
  • 5+ years AutoCAD experience, AutoCAD Electric experience a plus
  • Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of NEC
  • PLC programming experience, preferably with motion control applications
  • Excellent project management, organization, written and verbal communication skills
